The Polindus Sp. z o.o. company was founded on 29 August 1989. Initially, the company’s business activity was concentrated in one production plant located in Bosutów near Kraków, which housed two separate departments: a warehouse shelving production department, and a casein grinding facility. Polindus supplied the stores and warehouses of hypermarket chains opening on the Polish market, i.e. Géant, Auchan, Carrefour, with high-bay shelving, and the casein constituted the basic product of our range, mainly earmarked for export. After refining casein originating from import from former USSR countries, the product was exported to countries such as: the USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, the Ivory Coast, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Syria, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Jordan.
On the basis on the agreement of 4 July 1995, the company’s management board purchased a majority share package in the first private dairy company in Poland – the PPHU Laktopol Sp. z o.o. company. Presently, Polindus holds 99.84 % of shares in Laktopol.
The company’s basic business activity is the production of milk powder, whey powder and dairy blends, the provision of powdering services of milk and whey for other producers, and the sale of the goods produced.
The status and high technical level of the plant’s equipment has been positively assessed by a visiting European Union committee, owing to which our plant was chosen among five of 350 Polish dairies to export its products to EU member countries.
In order to expand our selection and increase the ability to process liquid raw materials into powder in the year 2000, the Group grew through the purchase of the “MITEX” company – today’s Laktopol-A with its seat in Łosice. Presently this company’s principle activities include the production of butter and whey powder.
As of August 1999 the Polindus holding expanded to include the production plant in Gąsewo, whose basic business activity is the purchase and processing of liquid milk collected directly from dairy farmers. From the moment the plant and its staff were taken over by Polindus, there was a significant rise in the amount of liquid raw materials processed. Polindus acquired vital assets such as specialist vehicles equipped to collect milk, and carried out the modernisation and necessary renovation of the remaining vehicles, machinery and plant buildings. A priority was the matter of finding new liquid milk suppliers, as well as the organisation of new milk collection points.
The company’s embellishment and visiting card became the Stadnina Koni Moszna stud farm acquired in 2000. The scope of business activity includes the breeding of horses and other types of animals, farm production, liquid milk production, as well as sales, tourism and recreation related activities.
In 2005 the group acquired a further 100% of shares from the French Cooperative Des Monts De Joux with its seat in Bannans, France, in the companies of Les Monts de Joux and Franser. These companies presently function under the names of Polindus Ex Monts de Joux and Franser, and the subject of their activities includes:
A further investment carried out by the Polindus company was the acquisition, from the State Treasury Ministry, on the basis of a sales agreement of 30 December 2005, of the Przedsiębiorstwo Przetwórstwa Blach Bistyp plate metals processing enterprise located in Legionowo, near Warsaw.
The decision to purchase PPB Bistyp brought about a growth in the product range and the creation of a modern branch of the Polindus company’s plate metal products industry. The aim of this investment is also the development of the production of warehouse shelving with the support of the machinery park belonging to the Bistyp enterprise, as well as the company’s experience in the working of plate metals and its convenient location.
In March 2008 the company opened a brand new branch – Laktopol International. This company runs the international trade of casein and caseinates, as well as milk and whey powder.
